Slow Speed Pursuit Ends in Fire on CA Highway

Nov. 4, 2022
Los Angeles firefighters doused the flames before they sparked a brush fire.

A slow speed pursuit snarled traffic on a California freeway Thursday.

The driver of the stolen semi cab managed to avoid spike strips several times but eventually hit one that did its job, CBS Los Angeles reported.

The front tire blew off, and the driver fled the cab as it burst into flames. A news helicopter crew monitoring the incident noted that dry brush lined both sides of the freeway in the Newhall area.
