A fire recruit was transported to a hospital and others sustained minor injuries after an explosion at a Long Beach Fire Department training facility Tuesday.
Everyone involved in the training evolution was evacuated, according to The Press-Telegram.
“As coordinated fireground training operations began, an unexpected explosion occurred in the basement of the training tower. This explosion broke windows and caused minor damage throughout the structure, according to a LBFD press release.
Initially, 11 individuals reported minor complaints and injuries, fire officials said.
The condition of the recruit is not unknown.
