Two people were hurt in a house fire Sunday afternoon in the Bronx. 

A firefighter was treated at the scene in Wakefield for a minor injury, CBS reported. 

A neighbor smelled the smoke and thought someone was having a Mother's Day cookout. But she spotted the heavy fire when she went outside to check.

The fire in the second-story house quickly spread to ones on both sides.

The cause is under investigation. There was no word on the conditions of residents.
