Newport firefighters battled a massive fire at Scott Plastics Monday night.

Fire officials said the blaze is difficult to extinguish and crews will likely be on the scene for some time.

Scott Plastics is a company that produces plastic injection molded parts for various industries, according to BNN. 

The gas company shut off the supply to prevent explosions. No injuries were reported. 

Several departments in the area responded to assist with the fire that was reported about 9:15 p.m.

The warehouse was one of several facilities that the company operates in Tennessee and North Carolina.
