Firefighters in Lancaster County, PA had more to deal with than the smoke and flames at a composting facility.
The county hazmat team has been there to monitor and doesn't believe at this point that the fire will cause air quality concerns, WGAL reported.
Firefighters have been to the plant several times in the past few weeks. The most recent was Tuesday.
It all started when a truck leaving the facility hit a pole which knocked out the fans used to ventilate the facility. The fire has been smoldering ever since, they said.
One firefighter was injured early on in the incident after a fall that rolled their ankle, but no workers have been hurt, Penryn Fire Cpt. Zachary Petticoffer said.
