Charging Scooter Eyed in Washington, D.C Building Fire

D.C. firefighters found one person during a sweep inside while others were rescued by ladders.

A scooter is being eyed as a possible cause of a fire in the nation's capital Tuesday that left one person critically injured.

D.C. firefighters found heavy fire blowing from the structure. They went inside and rescued a person who was visiting a resident, DC News Now reported. 

Firefighters rescued other people from the upper floors via portable ladders. Two dogs and a cat also were saved.
