Three firefighters were injured during the fire that damaged the repair business in Hicksville.

Three firefighters were injured Monday night when fire ripped through an automotive repair shop in Hicksville.

Several fire departments responded to the fire, reported around dinnertime, and found heavy smoke coming from the one-story building. 

The fire at Omega Auto Body was contained in about an hour, Nassau County police officials told Long Island's News 12.

One firefighter suffered an eye injury and was taken to the hospital. The other two were treated and released at the scene.

Officials said the Hicksville Fire Department hazardous materials team were called to help clean up the paint and fluids found in the building.
