Watch: FDNY Firefighters Battle 4-Alarm Bronx Blaze
FDNY firefighters battled a four-alarm fire this past week that ripped through the cockloft of a large apartment building in the Bronx.
Firefighters were called to the six-story building on Cypress Avenue in the Mott Haven neighborhood around 2:30 p.m.
Two firefighters and three residents were injured in the fire, according to News 12.
"Our units arrived in three minutes and 45 seconds. This building is a six story, non fireproof multiple dwelling with seven apartments per floor. Upon arrival, we found heavy fire in an apartment on the sixth floor with extension to the cockloft space,” Chief of Operations Kevin Woods said in a statement.
About 150 firefighters and nearly 40 units responded.
