Two people died in an overnight mobile home fire in Lacey, according to a fire chief and the Thurston County Coroner.
A male believed to be in his late teens and a girl, possibly 10 or 11, died in the fire, said Coroner Gary Warnock. Their exact ages are still being confirmed, he said.
A 44-year-old woman at the scene of the fire was taken to an area hospital, then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Warnock said.
Medical exams for the two people who died are set for Wednesday, he said.
Lacey Fire District 3 was dispatched at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday to the Edgelake Mobile Home Park in the 3000 block of 21st Avenue Southeast. The park is next to Chambers Lake.
Fire crews arrived to find the mobile home fully engulfed in flames, so crews fought the fire defensively to prevent it from spreading to other mobile homes, Lacey Fire District 3 Fire Chief Jennifer Schmidt said.
No other mobile homes were damaged, she said.
