Firefighters are responding to a three-alarm fire at a tire warehouse on Northeast 190th Place and Halsey Street in Gresham, according to a city spokesperson.

Crews from Portland and Gresham were on the scene of the Friday afternoon blaze, which sent a large plume of black smoke across both cities. A Portland Fire & Rescue spokesperson said “several crews” had been dispatched.

The report of the fire came in around 3:30 p.m., said the Gresham spokesperson, Nate Jones, who added that officials would establish a command center nearby as they worked to contain it.

No injuries were reported at this time, Jones said.

Authorities closed Northeast 192nd Avenue between Halsey Street and Wilkes Road. Northeast San Rafael Street was closed between 181st and 192nd avenues, according to a police spokesperson.
