Massive Blaze Engulfs Gorham, NY, Warehouse

Officials believe the fire started outside the warehouse, which contained a “volatile” substance in Gorham.

Firefighters from two counties spent hours Saturday night and into Sunday battling a massive warehouse fire in Gorham.

The fire was reported just after 5 p.m. and firefighters from Ontario and Yates counties were summoned to the scene.

The fire spread from the outside to the warehouse, which Ontario County Undersheriff Michael Rago said contained a “volatile” substance, according to RochesterFirst.com.

The Finger Lakes Daily website reported that foam was brought to the scene from Elmira nd Rochester airports - both over 40 miles away, to help control the blaze.

Over 100 firefighters responded.
