Multiple families have been displaced, and one firefighter was injured in a massive west Fort Worth apartment fire early Tuesday, officials said.

More than 30 fire units were dispatched to the Shadowwood Apartments at 6701 Calmont Ave. starting about 6:05 a.m., according to the 911 call sheet. Fort Worth Fire Department officials said on X that it is a three-alarm fire.

At least one firefighter has been taken to a local hospital for smoke inhalation, KDFW-TV reported.

The American Red Cross will provide emergency assistance to the displaced residents. Fire officials said the situation is still developing.

In a separate incident, three adults were displaced and two firefighters were injured in a house fire late Monday night in south Fort Worth.
