GoFundMe Set Up for Chetek, WI, Firefighter Who Lost Home to Fire on Sept. 11
Funds are being raised after a Chetek firefighter and his family lost their home to a fire on Sept. 11.
Officials told WQOW.com that the fire started in an attached garage and spread to the two-story home, including into the attic.
The fire gutted most of Vinny Hoffman's home.
Chetek Fire and Rescue launched a GoFundMe to help Hoffman and his family, including his wife, who is pregnant with their second child. The campaign has raised nearly $7,100 of the $10,000 goal.
"Our great friends, a part of the Chetek Fire and Rescue family, experienced a house fire that began in their attached garage and started to overtake their home. They are now without that home," the department shared on Facebook.
"Vinny, Skyelar, and Liam are the best people and friends anyone could ask for. They drop everything to help others when needed, and now it’s our turn to help them."
