Watch CA Firefighters Dashing Away from Longhorn

Aug. 15, 2020
A video posted to social media shows a crew of Ventura County firefighters running away from a longhorn steer during operations against the Lake Fire.

Although wildland firefighters are ready to face a multitude of unforeseen operational challenges, they probably never anticipate getting into a bullfight.

A brief video posted to social media on Friday that was filmed from inside a Ventura County, CA, fire apparatus shows three firefighters running away from a longhorn steer that comes charging down a hill after them.

The fire crew appears to be OK as they dash behind the rigs at the scene, while the territorial steer seems relatively calm at the end of the pursuit.

Twitter user Amy Lanski said "Yikes!! Not thank you!!!" when posting the video, and we must say that we wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment.
