CA FFs Save Local High School

Sept. 15, 2022
Multiple vehicles and structures across the street from the school were destroyed, but CAL FIRE firefighters saved Foresthill High School.

The Mosquito Fire made a run Tuesday afternoon, threatening the Foresthill community once again.

Multiple vehicles and structures across the street from Foresthill High School were destroyed.

Deputy Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Tooker told FOX 40, "It would have been a tragedy if we had lost the high school."

Crews were able to narrowly avoid the flames from reaching north of Foresthill Road, where more homes and structures, including the high school, are.

"The fire behavior yesterday was very erratic and posed a major threat here," said CAL FIRE's Bud Edglund. "Our priority when that fire came out wa to protect this community."
