On November 23, 2006 at around 2PM there was a structure fire at 413 Sunlit Terrace in Utica, NY.
According to the Utica Observer Dispatch, the fire was first observed by off duty Fire Chief Russell Brooks. Quickly he notified firefighters of the blaze and within twenty minutes, the fire was under control.
No deaths or injuries were reported except for the family's pet cat who died of smoke inhalation.
At the time of the blaze, one resident occupied the house but escaped through a window while the family's dog was rescued by a fire official.
