FL Mobile Home Fire Claims Two

Firefighters found two bodies after they bought the fire in the DeFuniak Springs mobile home under control.

DeFUNIAK SPRINGS — Two people died Friday night in a mobile home fire on Cotton Lane northeast of town.

Walton County Fire Rescue and the Walton County sheriff's deputies responded to the home about 10 p.m. to find heavy smoke and flames engulfing the structure, according to the Sheriff's Office. Two bodies were found inside after the fire was extinguished.

According to the State Fire Marshal's Office, the fire is not believed to be suspicious. The victims' identities have not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Crews from the Argyle and DeFuniak Springs fire departments assisted at the scene.
