LAWRENCE - A dark, sticky liquid found on an inbound envelope at the state government's mail facility was found to be a harmless substance, hours after the Princeton Avenue facility was evacuated yesterday morning, officials said.

The 10:40 a.m. discovery by an employee at the Capitol Post Office turned into a full-fledged hazardous materials incident. Three employees were quarantined by first responders, and Trenton firefighters donned protective suits and isolated the letter and decontaminated the employees, police said.
