Calif. Ambulance Crashes, Trapping Two

Orange County rescue personnel used a variety of rescue tools to extricate the driver and attendant.

Orange County fire and rescue personnel extricated two occupants from an ambulance early Sunday after it crashed into a pole.

There were no patients in the ambulance when the wreck happened about 6:45 a.m. according to OCRegister.

The crash occurred near the Orange County Children's Hospital.

Police are probing to determine if the driver fell asleep, reports indicated. 

The injuries were not serious.
