Okla. Widow Files Suit in Water Rescue Death

The widow of Claremore fire Capt. Jason Farley filed a lawsuit against the city yesterday.

The wrongful death lawsuit filed by Shelli Farley said the city failed to meet NFPA standards for water rescue training, according to NewsOn6.com

Farley drowned during a flash flood on May 23, 2015 when he and Lt. Zane James were pulled into a pipe. 

According to the lawsuit, the city did not provide formal water rescue training until after the incident occurred.

The suit is seeking $75,000 in damages.
