First responders received reports of the incident in the 3400 block of E. Carson Street shortly before 5 p.m., according to Pittsburgh Public spokeswoman Cara Cruz.
Witnesses told members police and firefighters that the man was trying to push his disabled vehicle off the roadway and into a parking space when he lost control and was dragged over a hill. He landed near the CSX train tracks below, Cruz said.
Train traffic was stopped while rescue crews stabilized the man and brought him back up the hill.
