UK Fire Brigades Rescue Horse from Fast-Moving Water

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service members along with animal rescue specialist rescued a horse from a river in Davenham, Cheshire.

Firefighters in England worked alongside veterinarian staff to rescue a horse named Clive who was trapped in deep, fast-moving water. 

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service Brigade members from Northwich, along with Bollington animal rescue unit and Lymm Station rope rescue unit were able to locate Clive in the River Dame. The horse had been stuck for two hours before firefighters worked to rescue him. 

Crews set up lighting at the scene and established a harness system to rescue.

Firefighters worked with vet staff to pull Clive ashore to safety, which took over three hours.
