Suffolk County Police and firefighters from the Bohemia Fire Department worked to free a horse trapped in a swimming pool.
Firefighters with the Bohemia Fire Department and Suffolk County police worked together to free a horse stuck in a residential swimming pool.
Bohemia firefighters were called to a local residence on Saturday for an animal rescue call involving a horse stuck in the cover of a swimming pool.
The first-arriving fire officer coordinated efforts with Suffolk County Police Emergency Services Unit and officers from the 5th Precinct to assist with rescue efforts, according to a Facebook post by the Bohemia Fire Department.
Crews were able to move the horse to the shallow end of the pool and free the horse from the cover. After a brief rest, fire crews, police and local residents worked together to assist the horse from the pool.
