Miami-Dade firefighters had to extricate a driver after his cement truck overturned on Tamiami Trail early Monday morning.
The driver was driving westbound toward the Naples area when his vehicle slammed into the guardrail causing it to tip over and trapping him inside the cab.

Crews had to carefully extricate the driver with the assistance of a surgical team, according to WPLG 10 News.
Due to the complexity of the extrication and nature of injuries, the driver was airlifted to Kendall Regional Hospital for emergency care.
