Firefighters hiked over 2 hours in total, to rescue 4 stranded hikers in averse winter conditions.
Tuolumne County firefighters rescued four hikers near Pinecrest Lake, including a 4-year-old suffering from mild hypothermia.
A team of four firefighters from Tuolumne County Fire Department Station 55 hiked on snowshoes for 45 minutes in to locate the hikers Monday.
Firefighters located the group on the far side of Pinecrest Lake who were unprepared for the weather conditions, according to a Facebook post by the Tuolumne County Fire Department.
Once located, firefighters provided food, water and dry clothing before starting their way out.
The hike out took almost 90 minutes with several firefighters rotating and helping carry the young child to safety.
