Gadsden firefighters rescued a National Guardsman who was stuck 50 feet up in a tree after getting tangled during a parachute training jump.
Firefighters were called to the Northeast Alabama Regional Airport where they found the Guardsman stuck.
Due to the height of the parachutist, they used a rope gun to shoot a sting up high enough that he could reach it and pull a rope up, according to the Gadsden Times.
Once the parachutist was secured to the rope, firefighters lowered him down to a ladder.
This was the second rope rescue incident of the day for Gadsden firefighters.
Earlier in the day, firefighters rescued a hiker that fell into the gorge at Noccalula Falls.
The hiker suffered several fractures and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
