Ocala firefighters on Friday freed a worker's hand when it became entrapped on top of a train.
Crews from Engine 3, Rescue 3, Tower 1, Battalion 22 and the Safety Officer were called to the train on NW 1st Avenue around 1:30 p.m.
Firefighters found a worker whose hand was entrapped in a conveyor belt on top of a train car, according to Ashley Lopez, the public information officer for Ocala Fire Rescue.
Crews ensured the power was turned off before employing specialized rescue tools to disassemble and remove parts of the conveyor belt system. At the same time, the crew from Rescue 3 rendered medical care to the work.
Lopez said the rescue was complete without 15 minutes of the crews arriving.
A Marion county Fire Rescue crew transported the worker to an aerial hospital.
