Woman Rescued from Dry Well in Chandler, AZ

Technical rescue teams from Chandler and other departments worked for an hour before lifting her out.

Technical rescue crews put their skills to use Monday to help a woman who fell 15-feet into a dry well.

The team set up a tripod over the opening and brought her up, Chandler Fire Batallion Chief Carlos Vargas. told azfamily. 

He said the woman, who was betweek 30 and 40, had hip and leg pain. She was transported to the hospital for treatment. 

It appears she was in the hole for more than seven hours before calling 9-1-1 on her cellphone. Authorities are investigating the circumstances. 

There are fences around the area where construction is planned.

“We’re not sure what her reasoning was for crossing the fences, and we’re not sure how she fell into it,” Vargas said adding that there was someone else with her when she fell.
