Contractor Missing, One Rescued from Pipe in Downers Grove, IL
One contractor is missing while another was rescued from a storm drain in Downers Grove.
Workers were cleaning a sewer drain when a powerful storm brought heavy rain.
Downers Grove firefighters and rescue technicians, who rigged a pulley system, rescued one worker about 200 feet from where they entered, abc7 reported.
That man was transported to Good Samaritan hospital in good condition.
But his coworker remained missing as of late Monday night. And, water conditions made the search "extremely dangerous."
Crews conducting the recovery effort were going through 8-foot diameter pipes.
