Police and emergency officials are responding to a building that has partially collapsed in the 1400 block of Market Street in Camp Hill.
John Bruetsch, Cumberland County’s public information officer, said that they received a call about the collapse at 1416 Market St. at 3:20 p.m. Friday.
He said that there were 12 residents living in the building and that all are out and safe. There are no reported injuries at this time.
According to Bruetsch, several of the residents weren’t even aware that there was a collapse but thought they had instead heard a car crash.
From the outside, it looks as though the bulk of the collapse is mainly located at the front of the building. Several of the adjoining address were affected by the collapse, Bruetsch said.
He added that they currently don’t know how deep the damage is, as the building is not stable and it is currently not safe for firefighters or anyone to go near the front of it. They will, however, be pulling up a fire truck and other equipment to take a look at the roof.
The cause of the collapse is not know yet.
