Stairway Landing Collapse Leaves One Dead in Portsmouth, RI

The victims were celebrating a graduation when the collapse occurred, Portsmouth fire officials said.

A 15-year-old girl was killed and three others were hurt when a stairway into a building collapsed.

The victims were celebrating a graduation at the Portsmouth Portuguese-American Citizens Club, WJAR reported.

The victims were on a stairway landing when the collapse occurred, Portsmouth fire officails said.
