Boston firefighters rescued an injured construction worker from a South End building on Tuesday following a worksite accident, according to the city’s fire department.

The worker was injured at a building at 547 Albany St. that was undergoing construction, the Boston Fire Department wrote on social media. Firefighters safely rescued him from the building’s third floor.

The construction worker was conscious and alert when he was taken to a hospital, the fire department said. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration ( OSHA) and a Boston building inspector will investigate what caused the accident.

No further information has been released.
