FL Firefighters Rescue Adults, Infant after Train Hits Car

Palm Beach County crews extricated two adults and a young child trapped inside a vehicle that was rolled on its side after being struck by a train in Belle Glade early Friday.

BELLE GLADE, FLTwo adults and an infant were injured after a freight train and a vehicle collided Friday morning, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

At 9 a.m., first responders were called to the intersection Runyon Village and State Road 15, just north of Hooker Highway, on the FEC tracks. Crews found the car on its side near the tracks with the individuals trapped inside. Firefighters were able to use extrication equipment to get everyone out and transport them to hospitals.

One unidentified adult was taken by a trauma helicopter to a hospital and the other adult and infant were taken by an ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Their conditions are unknown at this time.

In the aftermath of the crash, all train traffic has been stopped in the area.
