Watch NY Crews Douse Car Fire, Extricate Trapped Driver

Hampton Bays firefighters made fast work of one burning car and pulled a woman from another vehicle in a ditch following a fiery head-on collision on Long Island.

New York quickly extinguished with a burning car and extricated a driver from another vehicle following a head-on collision last week.

Firefighters from Hampton Bays on Long Island responded to the crash shortly after 7 p.m. Friday, Loudlabs News reports. Crews encountered one vehicle in flames and another in a ditch.

Firefighters made fast work of the car fire, and the driver escape the flames but was severely injured. The driver of the other car was extricated, and both patients were airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.

Along with the drivers, each vehicle carried a passenger. The driver of the burning car was charged with reckless driving and second-degree assault, News 12 Long Island reports.
