Jul. 3—Two people died and two more were injured Sunday morning in a crash outside of a Conroe-area fire station, according to the Montgomery County Police Reporter.

Caney Creek firefighters responded around 8:30 a.m. after hearing an object hit their building on FM 1314. They exited Station 86 and saw a man walking around a destroyed Ford F-150. The driver's side door had flown close to 300 feet, hitting the station's wall, the outlet reported.

Authorities said the driver crossed a center line on the road and struck a traffic signal pole with a concrete base, ripping the vehicle in half.

Two men ejected from the truck died at the scene, authorities said. The man found walking around was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition, and a fourth man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after also being ejected from the vehicle.

The Department of Public Safety is investigating. Several crosses on the roadside indicate where other fatal crashes have occurred at the location, according to the Police Reporter.

The wreck closed FM 1314 until at least noon Sunday.
