State Approves Funding for NC Firefighters with Cancer

The state of North Carolina put $15 million into the 2022 budget to help firefighters who are diagnosed with cancer. 

Firefighters and their families will be provided with $25,000 lump sum payments to pay for treatments and other funds will be used for disability payments.
