New York, NY - Take the steps of Madison Square Garden to honor the memories of the 343 members of FDNY who bravely gave their lives trying to save others on September 11, 2001.

Join the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) for the New York Knicks 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb presented by Chase at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, April 7, 2019. Participants will climb the stairs multiple times for a total of 110 stories, representing the number of floors in the Twin Towers.

“Each year, at stair climbs across the country, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation does remarkable work to support the families of the brave men and women who have given their lives in service to others,” said Fire Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro. “Once again holding this stair climb at the ‘The World's Most Famous Arena,’ in the heart of New York City, is a fitting tribute to the 343 FDNY members who gave their lives on September 11th.”

Registration is $50. Everyone will receive a photo ID of one of the fallen heroes of September 11th. Check-in begins at 11:00 am at Madison Square Garden and the climb starts at 12:00 pm. Go to http://events.firehero.org/2019nyknicks to register. The climb will be held before the Knicks “First Responder Night Presented by Chase” game against the Washington Wizards.

“The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is an opportunity for anyone in the community to demonstrate respect and admiration for these courageous men who gave their lives trying to save others. It’s also a way to show their loved ones that we will never forget them,” said National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Executive Director Ron Siarnicki. “We want to be sure that each of those firefighters is represented by someone climbing the stairs at Madison Square Garden.”

The proceeds will benefit the FDNY Counseling Services Unit, the UFA Widows and Children’s Fund, and the programs provided by the NFFF to support the families of our nation’s fallen firefighters.
