U.S. Police & Fire Championships Rebrands with New Logo

Oct. 25, 2022
The California-based organization has chosen a more inclusive logo that welcomes more members of the public safety community.

SAN DIEGO (October 25, 2022) – The California Police Athletic Federation (CPAF), a non-profit organization committed to promoting sport and physical fitness among first responders, is pleased to announce the rebranding of the US Police & Fire Championships (USPFC) logo and visual identity. After many decades of the same American flag logo, CPAF has developed a new logo that is more inclusive of all members of the public safety profession and community.

“We wanted to create a logo that reflected both law enforcement (blue) and fire (red) since we serve a wide variety of public service agencies.” Said Larry “LC” Collins, President of the California Police Athletic Federation. “The flame reflects our foundation in sports and the passing of the torch from generations past to the future of the Games.”

Since 1967, CPAF has hosted Olympic-style games to promote physical fitness and camaraderie among members of the police community. As time has passed, CPAF has grown and shifted its focus to include a broader range of first responders including members from Law Enforcement, Fire, Corrections, and Emergency Service Agencies. With this shift in eligible participants and expansion of sports offered, CPAF has decided to expand its brand appeal and rebrand with a more inclusive logo.

This new chapter for the USPFC also comes with an announcement that the event portfolio continues to expand. Not only will athletes be able to compete each June in the annual US Police & Fire Championships presented by Bio-One, Inc. in San Diego, and the First Responders Relay presented by Bio-One, Inc. in October in Las Vegas, but CPAF is pleased to announce the inception of the USPFC/ North American Fall Classic, scheduled for November 1, 2023, through November 5, 2023, in Mesa, Arizona, at the newly opened Bell Bank Park complex. The Fall Classic will invite teams from all over North America, including Canada and Mexico, to compete in tournament play and will allow first responders another opportunity to focus on their health and wellness.

“As we undertake this new journey for the USPFC, we will continue to unite public safety athletes and provide them with the ultimate athletic competitions and experience," said Collins. "We endeavor to encourage health and wellness among all public safety personnel and create lifelong memories for the athletes, their families and the communities we serve. We look forward to being of continued service to our athletes in this new chapter for the UPSFC.”

With their new brand, CPAF plans to welcome a younger generation of athletes and first responders into the organization and continue the Olympic style games for the decades to come. To learn more about the California Police Athletic Federation and its games, please visit www.cpaf.org.
