CoachMePlus Pilot Program Readies FDNY Firefighters

April 17, 2025
CoachMePlus now has definitive results from its groundbreaking pilot program with the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) Fire Cadet Academy.

Buffalo, NY - CoachMePlus announced definitive results from its groundbreaking pilot program with the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) Fire Cadet Academy, demonstrating the measurable impact of its FireCoach360 (FC360) product as the premier human performance software for firefighter readiness. The data speaks for itself. This partnership isn’t just innovative, it’s transformative.

FireCoach360 Drives Unmatched Fitness Gains for FDNY Cadets

After being identified as remedial based on their initial physical fitness test performance, 16 cadets were instructed to engage with FC360 to improve their fitness outcomes. Analysis showed that remedial cadets who used the platform consistently demonstrated significant improvements in run times, pull-ups, push-ups, and sit-ups from baseline. These cadets also passed their physical fitness tests at a much higher rate compared to those who did not regularly engage with the application, positioning FC360 as a critical tool in supporting at-risk cadets and reducing dropout rates.

Kevin Dawidowicz, President of CoachMePlus, remarks, “This partnership highlights our commitment to advancing human performance through evidence-based solutions. Building on our successful pilot collaboration with the U.S. Army’s Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) program, we are honored to support the FDNY Fire Cadet Academy—an institution setting the standard for firefighter training and innovation. We look forward to exploring future developments based on this work to support fire departments across the country strengthening the health, resilience, and readiness of their firefighters.”

FDNY Captain Anthony Abbatemarco, who oversees the program, asserted, “Firefighting is an extremely physically demanding job and fitness is a non-negotiable job requirement. CoachMePlus has been an invaluable resource for our program. It's given us a way to connect, program, and account for our Cadets in a way we couldn't have without it.”

This announcement follows the study titled FireCoach360 Use Reduces Attrition and Enhances Physical Fitness in the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) Remedial Cadets by Gallivan, Balbach & Looney (2025).
