A firefighter was listed in stable condition after falling and landing on his head at an Indianapolis house fire Thursday morning.
The 45-year-old firefighter was working on a porch roof during a fire in a vacant home on Charles Street when it collapsed around 1:30 a.m.
The firefighter landed on his head and was unconscious when he was rushed to IU Health Methodist Hospital, Battalion Chief Rita Reith told the Indianapolis Star.
She said the 22-year veteran became alert and was talking after he arrived at the hospital where he was being treated for injuries.
