A person who was possibly a juvenile was arrested Thursday morning for firing a gun into a closet while Chicago firefighters were responding to a medical call.
CBS Chicago reports that a Chicago Fire Department crew was responding to a call about a deceased person at a home in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the city's South Side when the incident occurred at about 6:45 a.m.
A grandmother had reportedly died at the home and emotions were running high when someone fired a gun into a closet.
Firefighters called for police assistance, and the person who fired the shot was arrested at the scene. Police also recovered a weapon and were trying to determine if the shot was fired intentionally or by accident.
Police said no shots were fired at emergency personnel.
