The driver, 26, was arrested and charged Monday with driving while intoxicated and failure to leave ID stemming from the accident in Grand Prairie.

A driver who was allegedly under the influence crashed into a Grand Prairie fire station Monday morning, causing minor damage to the building, officials said.

No one was injured in the crash, which happened about 6 a.m., Grand Prairie police spokesman Mark Beseda said.

Police arrested the driver, 26-year-old Abdimasir Osman Adan of Grand Prairie, on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to leave ID.

Adan, who was driving a white 2006 Acura sedan, was speeding and lost control while making a turn, then struck the southwest corner of the building in the 500 block of West Main Street, authorities said. Beseda said Adan walked away from the scene after the crash.

Beseda said that part of the building is storage space, so no firefighters were in danger.
