SC Firefighter Injured When Apparatus Overturns

The St. Paul's firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after he lost control of the vehicle he was driving Tuesday in the Ravenel area.

A South Carolina firefighter was hurt when the apparatus he was driving overturned Tuesday.

The accident happened at around 11 a.m. along Hwy. 165, near Gadsden Road, in the Ravenel area, WCSC-TV reports. A firefighter from the St. Paul's Fire Department was responding to another crash when he lost control of the apparatus, and it flipped over, authorities said.

Only one vehicle was involved in the accident, and the firefighter was the only person inside. He was taken to the  Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston with minor injuries, according to WCSC.

Part of Hwy. 165 was shut down because of the crash, and by about 12:30 p.m., fire crews at the scene had righted the apparatus, the TV station reports.
