Teens Charged in Attack of FDNY Firefighter Caught on Video

July 27, 2021
An off-duty firefighter was walking his dog in Queens when a group of youths confronted and beat him, an incident that was captured on video.

Two teenagers were turned in by their parents Tuesday for jumping an off-duty firefighter as he walked his dog in a Queens park, police said.

The 14-year-old and 15-year-old were part of a larger crew who attacked the smoke eater inside Juniper Valley Park in Middle Village on Friday night, cops said.

One of the youths was caught on video saying it was “fight night” and another kept yelling “Give him a shot!” police said.

The teenagers — described as the main instigators — are charged with gang assault and are headed to Family Court because of their ages.

The firefighter was not badly injured, even though he was cracked in the head with a glass bottle and repeatedly punched and kicked, cops said.
