NY Man Arrested after Injuring FF During Civil Unrest

A man has been arrested after injuring a Rochester firefighter and damaging a pumper during the May 2020 civil unrest.

A Rochester man has been charged in connection with the the May 2020 civil unrest that injured a firefighter and damaged a Rochester fire truck.

Police and fire authorities have charged the man with first-degree riot, second-degree assault, and third-degree criminal mischief, according to WHAM 13.

The man is accused of climbing on the front bumper of a Rochester pumper while firefighters were responding to a call.

While on the fire apparatus, it is alleged that he used a metal object to damage the truck and injure the firefighter.

According to the Rochester Fire Department, the suspect is waiting for his arraignment in the Monroe County Jail.
