MD Firefighter Injured in Apartment Fire

A Harney Volunteer Fire Company firefighter sustained minor injuries fighting an apartment fire.

Mar. 31—One firefighter sustained minor injuries Thursday morning fighting an apartment fire in the Keysville area.

According to Chief Don Yingling of the Harney Volunteer Fire Company in Taneytown, firefighters from Carroll and Frederick counties responded to the scene in the 1700 Block of South Keysville Road shortly after 7:30 a.m., and were able to control the fire in about an hour.

All occupants of the apartment building escaped uninjured. Yingling said units from Taneytown, Harney, Union Bridge, New Windsor, Woodsboro, Rocky Ridge, Emmitsburg, Walkersville and Thurmont, as well as the Office of the State Fire Marshal, responded to the scene.
