TX FFs Injured at Senior Facility Fire
Two firefighters were hospitalized after responding to a fire Thursday evening at a senior-living facility in Far East Dallas.
The fire broke out about 6:30 p.m. at Lakeland Hills Senior Living in the 3300 block of Dilido Road, near John West Road. Smoke was seen coming out of the second floor of the three-story building when firefighters arrived, said Jason Evans, a spokesman for Dallas Fire-Rescue.
About 120 firefighters were still battling the blaze two hours later, Evans said.
The injuries the two firefighters sustained were non-life-threatening, and both are expected to be OK, Evans said.
There have not been any injuries reported among residents, he said.
It’s not clear yet what caused the fire, Evans said.
