WV Ambulance Left Dangling From Bridge; Crew OK
An ambulance was left dangling from a bridge. However, the Charleston Fire Department crew wasn't injured.
"It appears they somehow got into the curb, which is a very high curb, and it pulled the ambulance up into the curb and then went through the rail,” Charleston Fire Capt. David Hodges told WVMetro News.
An investigation is underway by the Charleston Police Department.
The crew had gone across the bridge to another station to restock after a call, Hodges said.
“We don’t think there were any other factors. We think the ambulance got into the high curb as he curbed the wheel and it pulled them. We don’t think speed or anything else was a factor,” Hodges told reporters.
A close inspection of the ambulance will occur Tuesday morning.
