North Haven firefighters are mourning the loss of own of their own.
Firefighter/EMT Anthony Desimone, 50, died Thursday night shortly after completing a 38-hour shift at the fire station, the department announced.
As he walked into his house, family members witnessed him collapse. He received medical treatment and was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead after resuscitation efforts failed.
