RapidSOS, Siento Gives First Responders Access to Peer Support

RapidSOS and Siento have partnered to embed an anonymous mental health support button within RapidSOS Unite and IamResponding.

Siento and RapidSOS announced a new collaboration. The integration creates a button in RapidSOS Unite and the field responder app (IamResponding) that allows any first responder to instantly access Siento's anonymous, cross-agency support network by requesting peer and mental health care.

Despite having higher rates of PTSD, depression, and suicide risk, many first responders refrain from getting treatment because they are afraid of being shunned by their peers. Siento was created to address precisely that issue: instead of directing assistance through the internal, frequently stigmatized peer team of a single agency, Siento connects first responders anonymously across a larger network, enabling them to change their identities with each interaction and reach out without fear of exposure.

“First responders shouldn’t have to choose between asking for mental health support and fulfilling their career goals,” said Karin Marquez, chief public safety brand officer at RapidSOS. “Building anonymous mental health support directly into the tools they already use every day makes reaching out as simple and safe as it should be. It’s our responsibility to help our helpers.”

“Most peer support today is siloed inside a single department, which means you’re forced to confide your darkest thoughts with your peers and leaders. That makes asking for help tough,” said Andrew Douglas, founder of Siento. “Siento gives first responders a genuinely anonymous, cross-agency peer network. Our integration with RapidSOS means that the network is one click away, right inside the platform they already trust.”
